Impact of COVID-19 in nursing professionals: systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract Nursing work is in increasing demand, becoming strenuous especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, objective of study was to assess impacts pandemic on health nursing professionals through a systematic review literature with meta-analysis, including studies published 2020 Web Science, PubMed and SciELO. Regarding review, we included 25 cross-sectional design, from 12 countries. The participants were mostly nurses or teams. Mental such as anxiety, depression, discouragement feeling obligation frequently reported by participants. meta-analyses psychological distress variables, no association found between being frontline healthcare professional (OR 0.94; 95% CI 0.33-2.67). mental has been negatively impacted Covid-19 main symptoms presented depression discouragement, many felt obliged front lines fight against pandemic; although they suffer emotional overload services.
